Admission Office is the entry gate to your student journey at ABU. Prospective Student should get in touch with our team to obtain necessary information about university’s admission procedure and all they need to do to apply.
Here is some of the roles and responsibility of Admission Office:
  • Responsible for all of the Student’s admission procedure ‘from the application call to arrival at university’.
  • Announcement for ‘call for application’ in every circle.
  • Prepare the application and documents of each candidate for merit consideration and selection.
  • Announcement of the successful candidates and admitted students.

Note 1: All Courses are taught and examined in ‘Persian’. Prospective student who are not proficient in Persian must register for the University’s Persian language course. The Student must start and successfully complete the Persian course before the start of the Academic year and in accordance to ‘Admission Calendar’.
Note 2: Further information regarding to modules of study for each course is available in ‘Academics’ section.  
Note 3: ‘Islamic Philosophy and Theology’ and ‘Islamic Mysticism’ are considered as courses under the ‘Theology and Islamic Studies’ Discipline.
Note 4: Faculty of Islamic Studies is located in the city of Qom. All other Faculties are located in Tehran.
1.Having a undergraduate degree (16 years of total education or 4 years of undergraduate study) from approved universities in the applicant country.
Note: If you are about to graduate from your undergraduate course, you can still register by providing a certificate from your home university that you are about to graduate.
2. Maximum age of 28 years
Note: If the applicant has at least one of the following conditions, the maximum age will be 32 years.
  • memorised at least 20 parts of the Holy Quran
  • Compilation or translation of at least 2 scientific books
  • Compilation of at least 2 valid scientific articles
  • Having a secondary level or higher Howzeh education.
Important Note: Admission of married students is possible; however, the university has no obligation to provide married dormitory accommodation and will provide only student accommodation conditions.

4. Physical and mental health; (Unfortunately the university is unable to provide disability services)
5. Having the same bachelor degree or a related field of study to the selected field of study for Master’s degree.
6. being familiar with Persian language and ability to the Holy Quran recitation will have positive points for admission
7. Not having a college scholarship at a similar level (master’s degree) in Iranian universities.
Students will be admitted based on their merits (scientific, cultural and social resume). After the selection process, the successful candidates will be admitted in two ways:
1. Admission with “Scholarship”, which includes:
  • Free Education
  • Free accommodation in University residence for 24 months (four academic semesters plus two summer holidays).
  • Daily meal (lunch and dinner) or subsidy for meal if the meal is not provided.
  • Cultural facilities (such as student camps, events, etc.)
  • Sports facilities
  • consulting services
  • Subsidies for health insurance and accident insurance throughout your stay in Iran until graduation.
  • Possibility of getting student jobs
  • Research facilities (library, free internet, etc.)
2. Self-Funded Admission:
students will enjoy the same facility without any change, with the difference that they will pay $ 1,000 per semester for their tuition fees and above mentioned facilities. In terms of the type of graduation certificate provided, there is no difference between scholarship students and Self-funded students.
Note: Once you are accepted in a course it is not possible to change it to another course of study.

1. Applicants must register with the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology of the Islamic Republic of Iran at, and upload the necessary documents. After completing the registration, the applicants will receive a tracking code, which they must provide to the university (Section 2 below).
Note: Applicants must at the time of enrolment be sure to choose the option (24th International University of Ahlulbayt) as the “University of Applied Sciences.
2. The volunteers must register the (first stage) and (second stage) at the university systems following the above clause (section 1) and receive their reference number. Sign up. Finally, after completing the registration process and receiving the tracking code, keep the code for future notifications.
Note: It is recommended that the volunteers take all the necessary information and documents after entering into the above mentioned systems and register. The required documents are:
Copy of passport scanned, degree picture, a pictorial note, a volunteer introduction film, and other documents. The documents must be scanned with high quality. Otherwise, the file will not enter the assessment stage.
Note: Applicants should wait for university information after successful completion of the two above-mentioned registrations (receive tracking code).

  • I recently graduated but have not received my degree certificate from the university yet. Can I still register?
Yes, you can register, but remember in order to fully enrol in university you must submit your degree certificate which has been approved by the Ministry of Science and Islamic Republic of Iran Embassy in your home country.
  • My undergraduate degree discipline is different to the field I want to register?
Yes, you can register. But obviously applying for the same field as your previous degree, increase the likelihood of your successful admission.
  • I do not currently have a passport. Can I register?
Without a passport, there is no possibility to register. Apply to get a passport in your country as soon as possible.
  • Can I send my documents by e-mail?
No. All documents should be submitted in the University’s admission platforms, which are mentioned in ‘How to Apply’ section.
  • Can I register without a reference person?
Yes, it is not compulsory. 
  • I did not complete my registration; will my case be assessed?
No, Documents of all students who did not complete their registration will not enter the evaluation process.
  • When do you announce the results?
The Final result will be announced according to the admission timetable. The result will be published through university website and other official channels. It is recommended that candidate keep in contact with admission office in order to follow their application.
  • What documents are required for registration?
The required documents are: a passport image, Undergraduate degree, Degree Transcript, Candidate introduction film, and all other supportive documents that could help your application.
  • what does the introduction video include?
The video should contain the following information:
– General Introduction of Candidate.
– Reading several lines of the Holy Quran.
– Introduce and present your scientific, educational and research records.
– introduce your cultural and sport and social activities.
  • I have not certified my undergraduate degree yet. Can I register?
Registration and application to the University are valid with the original documents that are officially issued and not yet approved by the university. But for enrolment into university you must be able to present an approved undergraduate degree.
In the comprehensive registration guide, which can be downloaded in the “How to Apply” section, all the details and the complete registration guide are provided. If you could not solve your problem by referring to that guideline, please do not hesitate to contact the admission office.
  • How long will the period of study be?
The length of the course is usually for four semesters and the university facilities are also available for 24 months (four semesters plus two summer holidays). In addition, students who are not familiar with Persian language must be enrolled at the university before the start of their course in accordance to the time scheduled for their Farsi language course.
