Dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology:
Almost 6000 Knowledge-Based Companies Are Active

According to the public affairs department of Ahlul Bayt International University as relayed by IRNA, Mansour Hakim-Elahi told IRNA that 40 years ago establishing a company meant moving outside city borders and sinking an enormous amount of money in order to produce something, but now, companies have entered the municipal scene and knowledge-based companies have become prevalent. He believed that this type of business requires a small space and has a lot to do with software. As the director of YAS innovation center, he added: “Google is a good example of these businesses with a lot of revenue.”

Almost 6000 Knowledge Based Companies Are Active

He continues: “in the past 10 years, through the efforts of the Vice-Presidency for Science and Technology, 6000 knowledge-based companies were established, 1000 of whom supply most of the products in the market. The difference between national and foreign knowledge-based companies is that national companies are mostly focused on Iran but foreign companies are focused on the international market. That is why YAS innovation center, which is owned by Ahlul Bayt International University, is focused on admitting international students.”

Pointing out the positive measures taken in this regard, he mentioned: “۴۰ companies are working with us and we are exporting their products. We are looking to link our students with these knowledge-based companies.”
