Overview
The science of mechatronic engineering has emerged as an integrated interdisciplinary collection covering the common goals of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, control engineering, computer engineering, and molecular engineering. The goal of mechatronics is to achieve simpler, cheaper, more convenient and flexible systems.
Today, system engineering knowledge is needed to design many complex systems that include different subsystems and different scientific branches. For example, in the design of a satellite as a space system, different branches of engineering such as aerospace, electricity, computer, mechanics, materials, etc. are needed. The knowledge of system engineering, by establishing communication between different branches and macro-management of such complex projects, leads to the efficient progress of large projects. Mechatronic engineering is actually an application of system engineering in electromechanical systems.
Mechatronic engineering is a combination of mechanical, electronic, computer and control engineering. This field tries to have an integrated look at systems consisting of mechanical, electronic, control and software components. The purpose of mechatronics is to create and use the internal connection between engineering disciplines related to automation and automation, to employ a profile of advanced control in hybrid systems.
Mechatronics is used in important and attractive fields such as automation, robotics, machine vision, medical engineering, servo systems and precision instruments, control and measurement systems, automotive engineering, computer-aided machine control, expert systems, aerospace, etc. The purpose of using the mechatronic model in engineering is to create synergies in the quality of products and developed technologies. Due to the increasing need of the industry to hire skilled workers in mechatronic engineering, training of human resources in this field has become more important. The important and basic point in mechatronics education is that a mechatronics engineer must have interdisciplinary expertise, which means that mastering the basic principles of mechanical, electronic, computer and control engineering is essential for him because he must have the ability to design in different fields and in have the ultimate consolidation and integration of these fields. Currently, in a significant number of electrical and mechanical engineering faculties in the world, mechatronics orientation has been established at bachelor’s and higher levels.
